Interpretation guide
What foreign and institutional co-selling means
The Foreign + Institution Co-Sell radar highlights Korean stocks where both foreign investors and domestic institutions are net sellers. When two large professional investor groups exit together, rallies tend to stay heavy, making this screen useful for auditing holdings and avoiding weak names.
Selection rules
The screen looks for names where both foreign and institutional net flow are negative in the latest investor-flow data. It estimates combined net-selling value by multiplying net shares by the closing price and ranks the largest outflows first.
- Combined net sell is an estimated value of foreign plus institutional selling.
- Selling that is large relative to trading value creates heavier supply pressure.
- Candidates come from the day's decliners, so price weakness and flow weakness are confirmed together.
How to interpret it
Co-selling is negative, but one day is not enough. Repeated co-selling with falling prices raises breakdown confidence. If the price holds despite selling, retail buyers are absorbing the supply, and that support needs separate verification.
- Two or three consecutive co-selling sessions strengthen the exit signal.
- Large selling with resilient price action calls for checking who is on the other side.
- During KRW weakness, check whether foreign selling is spreading market-wide.
How to respond
If a holding appears on this list, first judge whether the outflow is temporary or trend-defining. For new entries, names under co-selling are better left on the back burner until flows turn.
- Re-check invalidation levels and the original thesis when a holding shows up.
- Pair with the co-buy radar to read where capital is rotating from and to.
- When several names cluster in one sector, treat it as a sector-level flow exit.
